How To Delete Your Facebook Account

I’m not really sure why you would want to do this, unless you had accidentally made two. This is what happened to Rachel, and so this post is for her- so there’s no more two account confusion!!

Step 1: Log into the facebook account you want to delete. Before you delete you might want to request the friendship of anyone you want to remain friends with.

Step 2: Click on “Settings” in the top right hand corner, next to log out. This will bring up a drop down menu. Select “Account Settings”.

Step 3: A big grey box will appear. At the bottom is ‘Deactivate Account’ select this.

Step 4: You’ll need to confirm that you want to deactivate. Fill out the feedback and select “Deactivate My Account”. This is as far as I’ve ever gone, so I’m not sure if you have to confirm via email etc. Let me know in the comments if there’s anything I’ve missed!

    Hey,

    I’v done this b4 and the cool thing about Deactivating your account is that, at any time you want to restart your Facebook account just used your old log in and password and it will turn all the info back on like photo tags come back wall post all of it… so it doesn’t really Delete your facebook account it just turns it off so that no one can post/see/chat/tag your profile…

    I have a problem, I accidentally made 2 facebook accounts, I want to delete one becoz, i think it causes problems to my othe account. In the account I am using I cant see my photos, information, status updtes, etc, i think it is caused by having 2 accounts. Can u plz help me with this

    Hi,

     

    You’ll need to make sure that you have uploaded your photos in the account you want to keep. Any photos of other people’s that’s tagged in your other account’s name will need to be re-tagged.

     

    Unfortunately, the only real option is to just delete one of your accounts, so that the other can work correctly.
