Baby Papa

I think I’m pretty lucky. While my husband might not be all clucky and what not, he is slowly embracing MY eternal cluckiness. I am a woman, after all, and I am pretty well just built that way! It’s not going to stop loving babies any time soon!

I follow a few blogs written by guys, and in the last little while a few of their wives have either just had babies or are now pregnant. It’s so exciting for them, and it’s so INTERESTING to hear it all from a guy’s perspective! These men are so in love with their wives and their babies, and sometimes they make me cry!
Luke is a bit of a softie, so I am sure he will be in a similar boat when we start having kids in a few years.

I’ve been suprised at how ‘non-reactive’ Luke has been when I try to stir him with baby talk. I mentioned Home Birth the other day, and he was all, “yeah, that sounds great”. SHOCK. We’re still discussing it etc., and there are the legal matters to address when the time comes, but this is certainly something we’d like to do.

For now though, I thought I would leave you with a few great blogs/posts which have helped me to see the whole pregnancy/baby thing from a different angle…

Pacing The Panic Room Floor- I particularly love the maternity series. :-)

New Dad: Very funny and a great read!!

Double Plus Good. A blog by me SUPER twitter friend, Matt.

Family by Zoey. Obviously Zoey is not a dad, but her husband is! I love reading about their little family!

This one’s just cause men are cool, and so is craft. :-) DudeCraft

Hehe. Now that I’ve had a baby – I think it’s funny when the woman is clucky and the man isn’t. The woman really does get all the hard work when it comes to pregnancy (and parenting for that matter!) and the men mainly get the fun times with baby. Wade was amazing throughout my pregnancy (massages, coming to every appointment, antenatal classes, being there through labour) and he is fabulous with Ariella – changes nappies, feeds her, helps bath her etc…but honestly, the majority of the time it’s me that does the work stuff! Not to mention I had to push her out! =)
So…I say Luke…u have the smoothest ride into parenthood! When the time comes of course… x

Haha, I actually didn’t think of like that! I guess Luke’s only worry is that we can’t travel etc.

We’ve had to talk about it a lot more seriously lately because I have to make decisions about work and study etc. (!!) and there’s no point in doing something if I’m just going to have a baby in the (relatively) soon future. Decision, Decisions!!
