Going Green!

As a spare of the moment thing I’ve decided to participate in this! I saw it on Bonnie’s blog, and couldn’t resist! Here’s what you have to do:

•    Drink at least 16 oz. of green smoothie per day (a quart would be even better!)
•    Do some sort of activity every day. This could be an intense workout, or just dancing with your kids around the living room. It could be a 15 minute yoga session or a walk around the block.
•    Add a green leafy salad to your lunch or supper (with light dressing…stay away from the creamier sauces).
•    Stop drinking pop.
•    Cut out all white sugar.

To translate into Australia- 16oz shoudl be just under 500ml of water, so I’m guessing the same of this smoothie.

Supper= dinner?

Pop= soft drink (correct me if I’m wrong).

So I’d best get over to Erbachers this afternoon to pick up some spinach- because THAT is what makes this smoothie GREEN!!! Here’s a sample recipe for a green smoothie (though I’m told you can make your own with fruits and vegies:

Fresh pineapple
Frozen banana
Frozen mixed fruit
One peeled orange
TONS of baby spinach
Water to blend

Simple, right?! We’ll see! I’ll probable keep you updated over on the food blog, so check it out there. :-)

    Interesting, thanks for that. My son has a terrible aversion to eating raw fruit for some reason, so I make it into smoothies for him and then he loves it! I also found some great smoothie recipes here and thought I’d share – lots of other great ideas there.
