Desert Page
Ever been to the desert? Want to scrapbook it? It can be a bit hard! I think this is a bit of a different approach to a traditional desert page….

In the desert there are SO many colours you don’t realise. When the sun sets, it’s BEAUTIFUL and the sky is awesome. Not to mention colours coming off the rocks…
I called this page “Colours of the Negev”. Negev is the name of the desert.
It’s just a simple layour- photo wise, but having the various strips in the background adds a new part of the story… the colours you see!
Thanks for visiting my site again! keep checking back for more updates!
Scrapbooking…
I thought I would share this page I recently did in my scrapbook, and a few of my favourite techniques. Feel free to save this to your computer for some inspiration!
The title of this page is Beit Shean, whic is the name of the place that we went.
There are a few things I like about this page.
1. Post it notes! I used one in the left hand corner for a little bit of journalling.
2. Film Strip! I don’t use film anymore, but I do have some old negatives hanging around from back in the day. I think it adds some depth, and interest to the page. As well as it being quite fitting!
3. Tags. I think you can get these in scrapbooking shops (I know you can get them at Daisy Chain), and I suppose at cheap shops? The lable is stuck there, but the cord is just loose.
4. Corragated card. I like to use it for a bit of depth and interest.
If you have other thing you like about it, then please let me know if the comments!
Re: Menu Plan
Yeah, re: the menu plan? It went pretty down hill after Tuesday when we RAN OUT OF GAS!! So I pretty well have all of those meals on the menu to still make this week! To fill in the week we enjoyed a night out, and some take-away Thai Frenzy (mm… thai frenzy….) oh, and did I mention that on Wednesday morning when we realised we were out of gas, we still had PEOPLE COMING OVER FOR DINNER THAT NIGHT?! Crazy. They still came, and I conquered the electrical cooking thing!
I did a bit of modifying of Zoey’s risotto in the rice cooker, and also did some pre-cooking at M&D’s. I wasn’t 100% sure how this risotto would turn out, considering when I put in the 1.25L of stock, my rice cooker was full and yeah, it was like twice as much liquid as I normally put in….
But it turned out AMAZINGLY! Like, I will probably never make risotto the regular way again! If anything I put the vegies (pumpkin and sweet potato) in a little too early and they were too squishy, but it was seriously yum anyway! PERFECT rice from this little trick! Have a bit of a try. I used 1 cup of rice and it served 4 people. It was enough for me, and hopefully enough for everyone else too!
Also, on another note, This is a link to an a pretty cool conversion chart for recipes that aren’t designed for the slow cooker. So now you don’t have to wonder how long to cook it for!
