Digital Scrapbooking

UniKids
So I’ve had my first try at ‘real’ digital scrapbooking. In looking at the page now I realise that I don’t actually have a title, so while I know that this is a page about my Uni friends, you have no idea unless I tell you here! I guess that’s a good thing about digital scrapbooking- I can edit it and print it out again!!

In the past I’ve resized photos, printed them and then scraped them (this is a story for another tim), but I hadn’t like them printed on my inkjet colour printer. I’ve been hesitant to really give digital scrapbooking a proper go because A) I like texture, and B) My attempts always come out pretty crap-tastic.

When I saw Ali Edwards’ Scrapbooking With Your Computer series come up in my reader I thought, Hmm… maybe I should give this another go whilst learning from an expert! I did this page using a tempate from the series, and I’m really happy with it. It was basic, but I learnt some neat photoshop tricks, and had a good base to start with. (You can still get the template here if you want to give it a try).

With this fully digial page I got it printed at work on the colour lazer printer, and it came out beautifully.

I guess I’m not 100% sold on the digital scrapbooking- I love the neatness, professionalism, and the cute things you can’t get in ‘real life’, but there is still the missing texture. You can’t touch it or feel those staples. Somehow it’s… fake.

What do you think?

P.S In the first image of the scrapbooking page, I’m on the left in the bottom photo. :-)

Thanks for visiting my site again! keep checking back for more updates!

It’s a Journey

Food + Limited control over what that food IS = fat weigh in.

Which is really not fun. Particularly when I’ve got a bridesmaid’s dress to fit into by October, and togs to wear for the next few months…

Weigh-ins are Tuesdays, and I’ve only lost 2 KG in the couple of months I’ve been doing this. I know- poor form. I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned before or not that I’m doing Weight Watchers. If I haven’t said so, then you’ve probably guessed from the menu plans! Anyway, the last few weeks I haven’t been going as well as I’d like too, and so I am needing to re-assess, and ask for your advice/experiences/ideas/thoughts/support.

I find my weakest times are when we go friends places for meals. Everyone makes such nice food, it’s too tempting! I try to be good during the week, and I’ve been rotating doing wii fit plus, pilates, and walking/jogging.

But does anyone have some suggestions for sticking to the diet while I’m eating food I haven’t prepared, or while there’s dessert?

Last night we went out for Sushi. It hought it was a pretty healthy alternative? It probably wasn’t as yummy as I anticipated it, but it was still fun choosing the food off the train!!

Supportive Commenter

I’d also like to take the time to thank Jacinta, for the lovely award above! It has definitely made my day. My WEEK even! Writing more comments is part of my 23 by 23 (but I won’t cross it off till I turn 23) which you can view in the sidebar (by the way, I just crossed a whole heap more off that!!).

I’d like to give this award to these lovely people. Thank-you to everyone for your lovely comments- I don’t get very many of them, so I appreciate every one I get. :-)

Bonnie: Thanks so much for the support you show me on this blog. :-)

Carmen: Thanks for leaving me comments so frequently and always encouraging me!

Jacinta: I know you gave this to me, but seriously, you’ve been a lovely commentor!

Happy Australia Day!

Happy Australia Day everyone!

This time last year we were in Jordan, in the Middle East, drinking non-alcoholic beer because they’re muslim, and not eating any meat because it’s Hallal… :-S

Hanging out in Petra, Jordan Australia Day 2009...

This is one of my favourite days of the year for the following reasons:

  • We get to do ‘Australian’ things like BBQ, eat damper, and drink beer. We’re drinking Crownies today.
  • ANZAC biscuits. Need I say more?
  • VEGEMITE. Only one my favourite things ever. Seriously craved it while we were o/s.
  • Friends- nothing better then a day to relax and chill with friends.
  • Triple J Hottest 100. So the winner has already been spilled, but it’s still good listening!
