My Latest Quilt

The Process Pledge

So I haven’t forgot about the process pledge that I took while I was making my polka dot dress (remind me to wear it next Tuesday when I go to craft so I can show Nana…). My latest projects is this Nancy Nalvorson wall panel quilt. I LOVE Nancy Halvorson designs, they really are so beautiful, but it is awfully annoying how the panels never seem to be straight. :-(

I’ve had a bit of difficulty trying to get the borders to sit straight to the print, which has been frustrating, but I think I have it as good as it gets…

I chose the thin yellow border and the thick pink border. I’m not sure what I’ll do for the binding, possibly the same dark green from the panel. A few others ladies from craft group, including my mum and nana are doing the same panel, but different borders. I think we might have all chosen different colours. I find it really interesting to see the different borders on and how it changes the look and feel of the quilt overall.

My biggest goal at the moment is to hand quilt everything… kinda a huge task, but ultimately worth it. I’ve started going around the edges of the main shapes, and going over all the writing. I love to free-motion hand quilt the whole thing, but I’m definitely not good enough yet. Maybe one day!

So that’s where I’m up to with my quilt. Now for some photos!

  1. Hi!

I really wish I had more handmade talent.. I never seemed to excel too well in sewing at school. I would love to try though!
