A Frock By Friday?!
August 5th, 2010

I always look on in awe at the awesome ‘Frock by Friday‘ creations that people make via Grosgrain‘s instructions. I’ve never followed the process before. I always feel like I wouldn’t be able to dedicate the time each night to making part of it…
It’s true that I really can’t dedicate time each night to doing it, but when I saw how dang easy this dress was going to be to make, I figured I’d be able to make it happen! It’s Wednesday night (well, Thursday morning at time of posting!), and I’ve only just started, but because it’s an American site, they’re a day behind. Technically I am only a day behind, yay! I don’t actually have any fabric prepared, so I will be hitting the shops tomorrow night to pick something out!

Anyway, so far all I have done is print off the pattern and cut it out. It’s one of those BurdaStyle ones, so I spent forever sticky taping it all together. I would seriously rather pay the (in this case) 4 extra dollars to get one from Spotlight that I didn’t have to sticky tape together, but that would have meant waiting and waiting till I got a chance to actually go out AND have money at the same time.
What sort of fabric do you think I should get for it? I’m thinking a pattern of some sort. Maybe floral? I guess it depends on the price. The other thing I liked about this dress (or more specifically the pattern) is that it was made for larger sizes, which fits me perfectly! Nothing worse then taping and cutting out an entire pattern only to find out that it’s not in your size!! Yes, I do realise I should have checked before I ever even downloaded it!!
Has anyone ever done one of these before and actually stuck to the time line?!
