Luke Carbis’ Uni Graduation

When Luke and I first got married he was a little lost, career wise. So I convinced him to go to Uni and study to be a teacher. 3 and a half years later, and here we are, at his graduation ceremony.

I’m a pretty proud wife right about now. :-)

Graduation

I have really strong feelings about all this, but I don’t want to offend anyone, so I’m just going to give you a summary of some words which sum up 30th June 2009 for me- Graduation Day. You can ask me questions about different words in the comments…

Disappointed. University. Professional. Family. Gone. iPhone. Rachel. Tears. Hurt. Camera. Dinner. Moroccan. Big vs Small. Questions. What now?. Mistakes. Remember. Annoyed. Peace?. Hate. Hard. Tired. Stress. Memories. Thirty-one. Hayden. Nana. Two. Bored. Gown. Mint Green. Effort. Worthless. Future. Luke.

Life Goes On…

Yesterday two of my friends, Katie and Carmen, graduated Uni. There were five of us to begin with. Two have graduated yesterday, Rachel will graduate at the end of the year, I will graduate this time next year, and Jordy the year after.

We’re graduating at different times for different reasons, but the point is that we’re not all at Uni anymore. Before our lives, though different, were all consumed by a common factor- Uni. Now we’re all in different places and we talk about different things. Every school holidays Katie comes back to the coast (her and Alex moved to Emerald to teach), and we all get together for a ‘uni night’. It’s always fun to talk and catch up and hang out with these people that for the last 3 years I have spent so much time with!!

The thing I noticed about Monday night (our most recent Uni night), was the different conversations that went round the table, and how the amount of conversations that included everyone was decreasing. Rachel and I could talk about puppies, Katie and Carmen about graduation… there were conversations about being married, getting engaged, engagement rings, churches, friends, girlfriends, children, houses… the list goes on.

I guess the thing I love is that even though we’re all at different places in life right now, we are still able to get together and talk for hours and hours. I hope that this never dies, as long, good friends are hard to find.
