I called this page “Colours of the Negev”. Negev is the name of the desert.

It’s just a simple layour- photo wise, but having the various strips in the background adds a new part of the story… the colours you see!

So the Israel part of our trip has ended. We’re crossing over to Jordan this afternoon, and it will be fun to see Petra. Very Indiana.;-)

We spent today travelling on various buses down to the very south of Israel. i am starving, but sorry Sam, I’m well and truely sick of fallafel! I really just want a sandwich, or some pasta! Our tour has been awesome, and we’re made some good friends, and learnt a lot about israel, jewish people, God, and ourselves. I would definitely recommend anyone coming here.

Even in the midst of a war, with the hamas sending rockets over our border frequently, we still feel very safe. God is with us. I will do a more detailed revew of the trip (including about 4gb of photos), when we get back- for now my head is still a blur. Our next adventrues include staying in jordan tonight and tomorrow night, and visiting petra inbetween, then catching a ferry over to egypt, where we’ll snorkle in the red sea, and visit Saint Catherines monastry, and climb Mt Sinai. onto Alexandria and Cairo after that, then HOME! (yes, I’ m excited, and I miss my family, and my pepper, and my bed, and FOOD!!!) Hope everyone is well at home.

So I have a COLD…
My feet hurt incredibly because we’ve been in Jerusalem the last few days, and in case you didn’t know, it’s the city of HILLS and VALLEYS. We are either walking up or down, hence the sore feet.

We prayed at the western wall today, which was amazing, as well as going through tunnels under the city. There is so much history in a place like this, which is excellent.

We are feasting on french crepes here, with chocolate, caramel and multiple other goodies inside, but not much else, as apart from the lunch time meals, the food does not quite agree with us 100%.
Luke is hanging out for some milo and ice-cream, and I just want some of mum’s macaroni & cheese!

We are learning lots about Judaism, and it’s really interesting.

Must go now, but will no doubt be able to update you with more adventures soon!

Talia

My reason for not bloggin lately is that I’m in Israel. Had I mentioned that before??

Just thought I would post a note to let everyone know that we are loving Israel. We’ve seen so much here, and it is such a beautiful country!! We have definitely been meeting God here, and the it’s true what people say- the bible really does come to life in Israel.

Things are very safe here- there are no worries for safety at all, and we never see or hear of any fighting. Mind you, we’ve only been in the north so far- to the Lebanese, and the Sumarian borders.

Our tour group is only about 10 strong, which makes for a nice group of people to get along with, talk to, share wtih, and learn more about. We’re from Australia, Canada, USA & South Africa.

I would definitely recommend everyone come’s to Israel. Yesterday we went to the Jordan river to baptise/ be baptised, and today we are off to the dessert to the Bedowin (sp??) people where we’ll ride camels (*joy*) and sleep in their tents.

We hope everyone is well, and can’t wait to show you all our pictures. We’ll have to buy new memory cards, because 6GB is simply not enough when you see such beautiful, amazing things every day for like 24 days. It’s only day 4 (or 5), but I feel like we’ve been here for ages. Jewish culture is facinating, and the people we’re travelling with have quickly become friends.

Good news on the Israel front as well- cheaper plane tickets then last time we were looking! And my passport has been processed, and is in the mail today! So I should get it by the end of the week! Pretty good turn-around seeing as I only applied for in on Friday! Though I did pay for the priority…

Check out this video of Pepper anyway. She is growing up, but still as cute as ever trying to eat a fly/ native bee!!
