The aim of this embroidery was to incorporate as many stitches as possible so I could practice. The further through the embroidery I got, the more I liked it. I was pretty happy with my stem stitch, and my french knot lavenders, so when Luke suggested I give it to his mum for mother’s day, I agreed.

A beautiful embroidery for a beautiful woman.

The pattern is from a Homespun magazine, and I used the following stitches:
Back stitch
Stem  stitch
French knot
Lazy daisy

Funny things with learning those stitches, I first leant ABOUT stem stitch here, but when I went back to watch the video today I realised that I actually do it nothing like that. I’m not sure if I do stem stitch in the ‘traditional’ way, or if I am actually doing another stitch, but either way, I like the result (my stem stitch is used on the words).
