Yellow… Gold, what’s the difference?!
We don’t have a whole lot of yellow at out place… so I thought I’d show you some GOLD!
The neighbours have had to listen this baby blasting through the trees for the last week or so!
I learnt the saxaphone from year 3 to year 7, but if I think about it, that was just over a decade ago! Luke has always pretty keen for me to play msuic with him, even though I don’t know an instrument, so I finally sucummed tore-learning the saxaphone. My brother Amon has been playing it, which is good, because it’s all in working order etc.
Luke and I jammed a little bit over the weekend, and basically, I suck! I can never remember what notes come next in the little jammy things we do. I seriously just need to read the music (and remember where all the fingering is)!
One thing that’s really interesting though is how quickly it all comes back to you. I did a bit of a refresher on the weekend and I remembered pretty easily the fingering for the different notes. Don’t tell Luke, but I am reasonably excited about playing this instrument again. For me (it’s always been like this) practicing is my weakness, but maybe with Luke it will be different?
Do you have anything yellow at your place so that you can play along?
Do you play an instrument? Tell me your story!
Thanks for visiting my site again! keep checking back for more updates!

Christmas Round-Up
I know most bloggers would have done this inbetween Christmas and New Years, but being on holidays has really messed with my schedule, and we haven’t had internet, so I’ve taken a bit of an un-intentioned blogging hiatus. But I’m back, as you would have been able to see from the three posts in three days! This post will consist of a Christmas Round-up, showing some pictures from the day, and also a video I made of our craft group progression.
If you can’t view the video below, then click here to view it in Vimeo.
Craft Group: Christmas Decoration Progression from Talia Carbis on Vimeo.
I’ve started to plan our my blogging so that I don’t have long breaks between posts. The point of all this is to record life as I know it, and who I feel about things. Of course, I always love your comments- they keep me going.
…CHRISTMAS… (click on the picture to make it bigger (will open in flickr)
This was the first year I wore specific Christmas outfits. I had a bit of a panic attack on Christmas Eve eve and reasliased I had nothing to wear. Christmas is the one day of the year when I know I’ll get my photo taken, so I really need to be sure I’m wearing something nice! We went to the shops and picked up some great bargins.
My Christmas Eve outfit (pictured) was some denim shorts, a cream top from Myer that was lacey over the shoulders, and red beads. I had red lippy to go with it, but this picture is during dinner, so none left!

This was my Christmas Day outfit (I’m holding a panel from Nanna which I can make into another wall hanging for Christmas 2010). New Red top/dress from Myer, with black leggings, a thing black belt, and red lippy. Thoughts? (it matched my new earings perfectly!)

Hannah’s having a look at the present I made Hayley- Luke, brother Ben’s, girlfriend. It’s one of those layered cookie ‘kits’, which I made myself. I put the recipe on tags from Shabby Princess.

My parent’s Christmas Tree. The stockings are ones we all made at craft group.

Luke gave me these Ruby and Diamond earings. Funny story- we went down to the Gold Coast for Christmas Eve to do the Fabri/Carbis thing, and Luke didn’t bring me any presents. He went out on Christmas Eve, while we were down there, and bought me these (and a few other things)! It was a bit over the top, but I love them.

My parents always make yummy, yummy punch with berries floating in it!

Some of my extended family- and everyone (apart form Luke- he’s taking the picture) who was there for Christmas Day lunch, this was basically a “Rodgers” Christams. I will give you a bit of a tour of the food we had another day this week, cause it was simply amazing!

Hayden, being the creative genius that he is wrote our names on leaves instead of traditional cards.

Pepper- she’s always a a beautiful gift. I love coming home to her each day.

Luke got lots of pizza related things to go with our new pizza oven. This is book for 500 pizza recipes.

We had a bit of fun with the fake moustache and beards!

Mum with Aunty Fairlie and Nanna. A gibson Christmas is always kind of crazy and hectic!

This Little Piggy Went To Market
On Saturday we went to the Growers Markets at the Big Pineapple. It was lovely. I took a few photos, and we bough a few things, including some wine, fresh herbs and strawberries! I love the markets, and it was a great start to an excellent Saturday!
I’m hoping to go back next week and take a few portraits, as I really want to get better at these, and the lighting and people are perfect at the markets! I would definitely recommend everyone get to their local market (if you have one) cause they’re such a lovely way to enjoy a nice Winter’s morning.
