Bloggers are like long lost friends… the story of a blog meetup.

Saturday was super busy, in fact, all last week was busy. I was doing something every night except Tuesday, and then I worked Thursday and Friday. Uni went into the back-burner while I was busy socializing! Unfortunately a similar thing is happening this week (yikes!) so I’d better get stuck into it, today (Tuesday’s) a sick day in our house, so I’ve got a few minutes to write up this post about our lovely Saturday night.

Saturday night Luke and I went to a blog meet in West End run by Dani & Danimezza. We both walked away feeling like it was a fantastic night out. I’ve really enjoyed going to these blog meet ups, I always feel like a bit of a ‘fan’ seeing all these people I read, and me being a bit of a bloggin nobody, but I like to embrace the ‘fandom’ just talk to as many people as possible (often an impossibility to talk to everyone).

I had a great chat with Zoey and Amy for most of the night. I’ve know Zoey since school and stuff, but it was nice to meet Amy in the flesh, cause I’ve been reading her blog for about a year now!

I’ve been sifting through the Goodie bag for days now, finding all these beautiful handmade bits and pieces, and assortment of gifts! It’s such a good way of keeping little memories of the night and all the people you’ve met! Also, yeah, pretty proud of my last minute goodie bag entry- a kit for February’s 12 MOC birds!

The Art of Persuasion…

I’m not a people person.

In fact, one could describe me as an ‘anti-people person’.

It’s not that I don’t like fixing problems or what not, I’m just not that good with people. I get grumpy and frustrated easily. So this is something that I’ve really had to work on and try to improve, and by goly, being nice to people works WONDERS!

So it has been my mission the last few days to be nice to people and not get frustrated with them. It’s hard sometimes, but I’m getting there! Of course, this is mostly relevant to work, but is sometimes related to at home and socializing!

In other news, my parentals and A-mon-o-me (Amon) came home from Myanmar, formally known as Burma. Click the links to learn more about it via Wikipedia, though it may romanticise it a bit… So here’s a little collage of the weekend…

1. The rose I picked from my parents garden. 2. The new iron we bought. $100. 3. Luke playing the burmese harp my parents and Amon brought back from Myanmar. 4. The white gold and diamond bracelet my parents bought me from Myanmar as my graduation present. 5. Amon and Luke trying on Myanmarian clothes...

Of course, I also enjoyed taking lots of photos with Rachel, and catching up with Zoey and her family (including the always adorable Mayana!) randomly at M’ba.

My Favourite Photo…

I was tagged by Zoey for this meme, which was started by Fat.Mum.Slim.

It’s really simple. I love how every photo tells a story. Some short stories, some long tales. I want to know what is your favourite photo of yourself. Everyone has one. The photo they look at and smile. It reminds them of something, some time, some place. A moment in time.

So share the photo, share the story and then tag three other people. I want to see photos and stories all around the blogosphere.

Baby me and Daddy

Baby me and Daddy

The photo isn’t the good- it’s 22 years old now, and is pretty spech. That’s me and my daddy. Our first photo. I love him SO much, and I by the looks of this photo, he loves me too. :-) There is something so special about daddies and their daughters.

I can’t wait for the day when I can take a picture of Luke with our daughter in the same position. I love my dad, and think that he’s the best. :-)

I tag Bonnie, Bettina, and Lucy!
